Barnstormer Baseball Umpire Guidelines

Umpires and Coaches
Guidelines:
1. Umpires must attend the umpire clinic or be approved as an experienced umpire.
2. Umpires must wear blue or red umpire shirt (at a minimum). If possible, wear black or grey pants and black shoes.
3. Umpires must arrive 15 minutes prior to game time.
4. Compensation for umpires is $25 per game and one free drink and a snack. For tournaments, they will get drinks and food.
5. If an umpire needs to cancel, he must give Zac Sandry 48 hours notice. Otherwise, he must find a replacement for himself. If an umpire “no shows” a game, it will be grounds for removal from the umpire rotation.
6. If a coach needs to cancel a game, he must give Zac Sandry 48 hours notice. Otherwise, if an umpire shows up for a game that has been cancelled by a coach who didn’t notify Zac or the umpire, both umpires will receive full payment from the home team coach. If within 48 hours of the game, the coach must contact the umpire directly.
7. The Barnstormer Website is the official schedule. Coaches must notify Zac Sandry of any changes in their game schedule that are made after April 22nd.
8. Zac Sandry will be responsible for umpire equipment. Zac Sandry will be paid $50 per team to schedule umpires for their league games. Mail this payment to Zac Sandry at 4986 Pigeon Creek Trail, Bettendorf, Iowa. Note: He will charge $5 per game for all tournaments. Any games outside of leagues and tournaments, you must call Zac directly for arrangements. They must be scheduled at least on week in advance. Fees for this will be an additional $5 per game.
